Concentraciones

Margam Park has been chosen by the Welsh local club, 2cv Pays de Galles, as the venue for the 2004 International camp. Margam Park is located in 850 acres of land in South Wales, between Bridgend and Swansea.

Margam park has many attractions to offer besides Welsh countryside. Margam is steeped in history with evidence of human habitation going back 4000 years. This includes an iron age hill fort, a ruined Norman abbey founded in the 12th century, an eighteenth century Orangery and Margam Castle (right), a nineteenth century gothic tudor mansion. Also contained in the grounds are Grade 1 listed ornamental gardens includng a unique fuchsia collection.
We have secured the exclusive use of the showground area. This site is able to accomodate up to 2000 camping units and we also have use of an extensive area of hardstanding.
One of Margam’s lakes is devoted to mixed course fishing. It is stocked with Bream, Tench, Rudd and three different species of Carp. Please note that a maximum of eight anglers are permitted per day including juniors. A current NR license is required and must be presented when buying your permit at the entrance kiosk. Currently, this is £4.30 per day for adults, concessions do apply and fishing is only allowed during park opening hours.
A ‘Tales of the Riverbank’ pond centre forms part of the mansion courtyard along with a cafe and souvenir shop.

The are seven set walks ranging from a gentle still to a serious hike, bike riders are also catered for, bicycles are allowed everywhere except the Orangery grounds. There is also a five mile mountain bike trail, covering tracks, paths and rough ground. Also within the park is a 24″ gauge railway covering a limited range of the park, and near the main entrance aviaries housing rescued birds of prey.
Margam caters for children of all ages, with a fairy tale village where you can visit the houses of Pinnochio and Sleeping Beauty. Older children may enjoy the adventure playground with its alternative version of Margam castle. This is also a farm trail and children’s pets corner. Within Margams deer park, Fallow, Red and Pere David deer roam free.
Dogs are welcome at Margam Park.
